
Extend Your Knowledge
The Master Teacher Preparation Academy prepares qualified 4th through 8th grade mathematics and science teachers for the Texas Master Teacher examination. The program consists of a three-week summer academy with supplemental online coursework and is offered in conjunction with the nationally recognized UTeach Natural Sciences program at the University of Texas at Austin.
Benefits and Goals for Academy Participants
- Prepares teachers to gain their Texas Mathematics Teacher (MMT) or Texas Master Science Teacher (MST) Certification;
- Creates learning communities within schools and across the state promoting excellence in mathematics and science instruction;
- Immerses and trains participants in a rigorous mathematical and science summer camp experience.
Support for Participants
Academy participants receive:
- Assistance with Academy tuition and fees;
- Summer stipend paid directly to Academy participants;
- Room and board for three weeks on the UT Austin campus (available upon request);
- Campus parking;
- MMT/MST test fee reimbursement;
- Workshop materials and support.
